In this video: For more than two decades, the Australian Chinese Music Ensemble has captivated audiences with its precise musicianship. Directed by sheng (Chinese mouth organ) virtuoso Wang Zheng-Ting, the Ensemble’s mastery of both traditional and contemporary Chinese music has led to performances across the country.
Blending the beautiful and traditional with the contemporary and innovative, this shimmering concert brings you solo and ensemble Chinese music performed by leading exponents of the repertoire. From timeless favourites like Spring Moonlight Night to Chen Yaoxing’s modern treasure for erhu, Horses Galloping, the exquisite sounds of the bamboo and silk instruments are mesmerising.
This concert was recorded live in the Primrose Potter Salon on Tuesday 3 September 2019.
