In this video: Solstice Piano Trio returned to the Salon in 2019 with Cityscapes, a portrait of cities as places of chaos, connection, hope, home and history.

Featuring two commissions by local composers Louisa Trewartha and Nat Bartsch, plus a new work by Solstice’s cellist Steph Arnold, this concert explores our connection to cities, and the roles they play in our lives. Complementing these central works will be music by Peter Sculthorpe, John Adams, and finally Peteris Vasks’ Plainscapes — a beautiful and meditative work reflecting Vasks’ own connection to his home and the Latvian landscape.
